Acupuncture
Our core service. Acupuncture involves the insertion of ultra-thin, sterile needles at specific points on the body to stimulate healing, reduce pain, and restore the natural flow of energy (Qi). Each session is tailored to your individual needs.
Session duration: 60–90 minutes (initial), 45–60 minutes (follow-up)
Cupping Therapy
Cupping uses suction cups placed on the skin to relieve muscle tension, promote blood flow, and support detoxification. It's an effective complement to acupuncture, especially for pain, respiratory issues, and stress.
Often combined with: Acupuncture sessions
Herbal Medicine
Custom herbal formulas crafted from high-quality, carefully sourced botanicals. These formulas work alongside acupuncture to support healing between sessions and address specific health concerns from the inside out.
Available as: Teas, capsules, granules, or tinctures
Moxibustion
Moxibustion involves the gentle warming of acupuncture points using dried mugwort (moxa). This therapy enhances circulation, boosts immune function, and is especially beneficial for conditions aggravated by cold or dampness.
Commonly used for: Arthritis, digestive issues, fatigue
Electroacupuncture
Electroacupuncture adds a gentle electrical current between pairs of acupuncture needles to enhance stimulation. Research shows it is particularly effective for chronic pain, neurological conditions, and musculoskeletal injuries.
Evidence-based for: Chronic pain, neuropathy, sports injuries
Gua Sha
Gua Sha is a traditional healing technique that uses a smooth-edged tool to gently scrape the skin, promoting circulation and reducing inflammation. It's excellent for relieving muscle pain, tension headaches, and neck stiffness.
Often combined with: Acupuncture and cupping

Treatments
Initial Treatment (75 Minutes)
Your initial appointment is a comprehensive evaluation designed to understand your health as a whole. This session is typically longer than follow up visits because it lays the foundation for your care.
We will review your health history, discuss your current concerns, and explore patterns related to sleep, digestion, stress, and energy. Traditional diagnostic methods such as observing the tongue and feeling the pulse help guide your personalized treatment plan.
You will remain comfortably clothed during the session. The visit includes an acupuncture treatment tailored specifically to your needs. Additional therapies such as cupping or gua sha may be recommended when appropriate.
Before you leave, you will receive a clear plan outlining the next steps in your healing process.
Follow Up Treatment (45 - 60 Minutes)
Every healing journey is unique. Some people notice improvement after one or two treatments, while others require a series of visits to create lasting and stable change.
In the beginning, appointments may be recommended once or twice per week to build momentum. As your body responds and balance improves, visits are spaced further apart. Some patients come monthly or every few months for ongoing wellness and prevention.
Two people can share the same diagnosis and still receive different treatments. Acupuncture treats the individual, not just the condition. Your lifestyle, stress levels, overall health, and personal response all influence how many treatments you may need.
There is a traditional saying in acupuncture: one disease, a thousand treatments. Many symptoms, one needle. This reflects the understanding that healing is individualized and that small, precise changes can create meaningful shifts in the whole body.
Our goal is steady progress toward resilience and long term balance at a pace that supports your body’s natural healing process.
Pediatric Treatment (60 Minutes)
Acupuncture can be a safe and gentle option for children, supporting concerns such as digestive issues, sleep difficulties, allergies, asthma, anxiety, headaches, and frequent colds.
A parent or guardian must be present during the visit. The first appointment includes a detailed health history, including information about pregnancy, birth, and development when relevant. These details help us understand your child’s overall pattern of health.
Treatments are adapted to each child’s age and comfort level. Needles are not always used. Many pediatric sessions incorporate Shonishin, a non invasive Japanese technique that uses specialized tools to gently stimulate the skin. When needles are appropriate, they are very fine and often inserted briefly.
Parents may be asked to assist in keeping their child comfortable and steady during treatment. Our goal is to create a calm, supportive environment while helping your child’s body return to balance naturally.
Aesthetic Acupuncture (90 - 120 Minutes)
Aesthetic acupuncture is a natural approach to skin rejuvenation that works with your body rather than against it. Using ultra fine needles, this treatment supports collagen production, improves circulation, softens facial tension, and encourages a healthy glow.
Unlike treatments that freeze or artificially alter muscles, aesthetic acupuncture stimulates your body’s own repair processes. The result is gradual, refreshed looking skin that reflects internal balance.
This approach is more than surface level care. True aesthetic acupuncture considers the whole person. By supporting digestion, reducing stress, improving sleep, and balancing internal systems, we help create changes that show on the outside.
At Zensation Acupuncture, treatments may also include Celluma light therapy to further enhance collagen support, reduce inflammation, and promote skin vitality. The combination of acupuncture and therapeutic light creates a comprehensive, non invasive option for those seeking a natural alternative to injectables or surgery.
